[ARCHIVED] Why Columbus Needs a Stormwater Utility? Listening Session, 12-14-21

Flooding - aerial pictureThe City of Columbus will be hosting an informative listening session detailing the need for a stormwater utility and will be held at the Senior Center on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 6:30 PM.  There will be a brief presentation of useful information along with City staff answering questions related to the fee, ordinance, and upcoming referendum in April, 2022.

Those in attendance will learn why the City of Columbus is seeking support for the new stormwater utility and about the differences between funding stormwater projects from property tax dollars vs stormwater fees and how the utility benefits property owners.  Attendees will be able to participate by asking questions about the presentation, along addressing with other concerns and thoughts regarding the stormwater utility information.  Residents will learn about the accompanying referendum question and will become more informed when making their decision on the referendum at the April 2022 elections.

If you have questions, concerns or would just like to know more about it, please attend in-person (masks are required) or via Zoom.  For more information go to our stormwater utility information page.
