The City of Columbus DPW is scheduled to begin repaving Tower Drive on Monday, October 11, 2021.  

Columbia County along with private contractors and the City of Columbus will be performing street repair / paving work on Tower Drive from STH 73 (Park Drive) to Faith Drive. 

The repaving project was originally scheduled to begin in mid – September 2021.  Notification was provided to the city today, 10/07/2021 that this project has now been scheduled. Providing there are no unforeseen delays this work will start Monday October 11th, 2021. 

It will be necessary to close Tower Drive in this area while work is being performed. Columbia County and the contractor will detour most through traffic on Tower Drive onto Faith Drive while this work is being completed.  The County will set up detour signs in advance of this project.  

There will be no street parking on Tower Drive from Faith Drive to Park Drive (STH 73).  If you reside or have property on this block of Tower Drive a letter has been sent regarding driveway restrictions / closure during this repaving project.  Access to property will be temporarily restricted due to this project.  A letter to Residents on the section on Faith Drive where traffic will be detoured was sent regarding change of traffic pattern and traffic volume.
