[ARCHIVED] July 1st Update - 2016 City Street Project

Here is your weekly update on the 2016 Street Project, for July 1st:

A Note – information on the upcoming activities with the project are subject to change due to weather or other factors that unexpectedly arise. This report is to give you a sense of what is planned for the near future for each part of the project, as adjustments sometime need to be made to address emergencies or for efficiency reasons.

Mill Street: Crews are continuing to work on the first half (Lewis to Main) of the street. The utilities being in, the focus has now turned to installation of water and sewer services. It is expected that work on utilities will be completed within the next couple of weeks. After that, the storm sewer work will work in that area followed by a focus on road restoration. The road will be graded so that travel can be easier, while the focus would move to the eastern half the street.

Birdsey Street: Water main work is expected on Birdsey following the July 4th Holiday. Residents should be notified prior to any expected water use interruptions. The following that completion of all the utility work will be the focus.

Charles Street: Restoration/landscape crews have been on Charles since mid-week, and they should be in there today and into next week, following the holiday. The city will be checking to see how last night’s heavy rains affected some of the work already done.

Prairie & Church Streets: Nothing new to report other than a similar note on how rains or other factors would affect the landscape restoration should be monitored.

As always, all schedules and work plans are dependent on the weather conditions.
