Here is your weekly update on the 2016 Street Project, for May 19th:
Charles Street: The concrete work is nearly complete. I understand that in most cases, access to driveways has resumed, even before expected due to conditions and favorable ‘strength’ tests on the concrete. Repairs have been made to a couple of areas where cracking occurred on the first pour. Next week, the application of the binder course (bottom layer) of asphalt is planned, weather permitting. Property restorations will take place after the binder application.
Prairie & Church Streets: Underground utility work is nearly complete and next week the plan is to do the concrete work in these areas. Notices about driveway/sidewalk use restrictions were created and distributed to homeowners directly.
Mill Street: Heavy equipment should be moving into Mill Street at some point next week for removal of old pavement.
