The City of Columbus is recruiting for a Police
Chief. This is a full-time, exempt
position that oversees the operations and activities of the Police Department
that serves the City of Columbus. Duties
include the management of the department budget, the development of long- and
short-term planning and goal setting for the department and directs the daily
activities, training and guidance of a department that includes 10 officers and
management staff. The next Chief is
expected to be an advocate for the community and act as a liaison between the
department and the community, including the schools, businesses and the
residents. The Chief works with a Mayor
and 6 Member City Council as well as the Police & Fire Commission as
