[ARCHIVED] Police Chief Position Announcement

The City of Columbus is recruiting for a Police Chief.  This is a full-time, exempt position that oversees the operations and activities of the Police Department that serves the City of Columbus.  Duties include the management of the department budget, the development of long- and short-term planning and goal setting for the department and directs the daily activities, training and guidance of a department that includes 10 officers and management staff.  The next Chief is expected to be an advocate for the community and act as a liaison between the department and the community, including the schools, businesses and the residents.  The Chief works with a Mayor and 6 Member City Council as well as the Police & Fire Commission as described in Chapter 62 of the State Statutes.  For additional information or to apply, you may download the Police Chief Application Packet from the City of Columbus website, www.cityofcolumbuswi.com under the Employment tab.
