[ARCHIVED] Downtown Beautification Task Force Meeting set for July 31

The City of Columbus Downtown Beautification Task Force will
host its first meeting on Tuesday July 31st at 9:00 AM.  The meeting will be held at the ColumbusCommunity Center located at 161 N Dickason Blvd.  The task force meetings are open to the public and we encourage downtown
property owners, tenants and other stakeholders to participate in the meetings.


The task force will develop recommendations which identifyimprovements to the public spaces in Downtown Columbus.  The task force will discuss the value of
various amenities, including:  installationof downtown flowering baskets or planters; installation of garbage cans,
benches, bike racks and other items; consider fundraising and/or sponsorshipoptions; identify potential locations for public art displays; review banners
and other decorations to be displayed on light poles; develop maintenance planand budget for the replacement of items; consider wayfinding signage for public
parking, parks, city facilities and others; and other items identified by theTask Force.
