Columbus Water & Light is aware that there is a power outage in the areas of Fuller Street, Park Avenue, Water Street and Ludington Street. Crews from Columbus Water & Light are already working diligently to restore power.
The City of Columbus will have a cooling shelter at the Senior Center located at 125 N. Dickason Blvd., Columbus on Friday, June 29 from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The Senior Center is open to anyone who needs shelter from the extreme heat. The Senior Center will remain open if needed.
The Columbus Public Library, 223 W. James Street, Columbus, will be open as a cooling shelter on Friday, June 29 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and on Saturday, June 30 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The Village of Fall River will have a cooling shelter at the Village Hall, 641 South Main Street, Fall River, Friday, June 29 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If shelter is needed after 12:00 PM on Friday or on Saturday, June 30, call the Columbia County Dispatch Center non-emergency number, (608) 742-4166 Extension 1. They can dispatch someone to open a shelter.
