[ARCHIVED] Cooling Shelters for the City of Columbus

The City of Columbus will be utilizing the Senior Center and the Columbus Library as cooling shelters on Friday, June 29th, 2018 through Saturday, June 30th, 2018.  The Cooling Shelter hours are as follows:

Senior Center - Friday only - 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Columbus Library - Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Saturday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

General symptoms of heat exhaustion include fainting, rash, fatigue, and nausea.  Skin may become clammy and moist, or hot and dry.  The onset of heat stroke can be rapid and may progress to life threatening illness within minutes.  If heat related symptoms appear, immediate actions should be taken to reduce body temperature. Remember to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
