[ARCHIVED] City Council Seeks New Member

The Columbus City Council is accepting letters of interest to fill an open seat vacated by former Alderperson Matthew Kenney.

To be eligible to serve, applicants must be over 18 years of age and live in the third aldermatic district.

Those willing should write a letter of interest describing their qualifications, and explain why they wish to serve on the council.  

All letters should be mailed or delivered to City Clerk Megan Meyer at City Hall, 105 North Dickason Boulevard, Columbus, Wisconsin 53925. Deadline for submission is close of business on July 13. Letters may also be emailed to

The Council will review the letters at the July 17 Committee of Whole meeting. Applicants are encouraged to attend the meeting and participate in the discussion. The Committee of the Whole Meets in the Council Chambers of City Hall after the 6:30 p.m. Common Council.

The remaining term of the seat expires in April of 2019. Those hoping to serve longer will need run for election the old-fashion way by submitting nomination papers before the deadline in the first week of January.
