[ARCHIVED] May 12 Update - 2016 Street Project

Prairie Street: construction began hot and heavy there this week, with utility and excavation work. It appears that the crew there is making good progress.

With the rains recently, City has asked the contractor to focus on managing the mud tracking in the project areas and to keep things clean.

Charles Street is expected to receive it’s binder course of pavement (first layer) the week of May 23rd. This follows the ongoing concrete work that had been started at the beginning of this week. A reminder to residents there on Charles that the new concrete should be left to cure so that it is maximum strength, per the notice sent out recently.

Underground and utility work will be continuing on Church and Prairie Streets in the next couple of weeks.

Of course, the schedule for the project is weather dependent, if conditions prohibit work, then changes and delays may happen.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you, Columbus Community, for your continued patience with the project as it moves ahead.

Patrick
