A public information meeting was held on Tuesday, February 27 at the Community Center. Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials gave an overview of what to expect from the construction scheduled for this spring and summer around exit 118 near Pick N’ Save and Sentry.
Preliminary work is scheduled to begin in early March, and State DOT expects the entire project to be complete by August 31st.
Plans for the construction show that lanes through the work zone, including on the exit ramps, will be maintained at all times. This means there will be no detours and traffic will be able to flow through the area as normal save for occasional lane shifts.
Once complete, the construction will link the 2016 renovation of the 16/60 Intersection near the West Side Travel Center with the 2017 reconstruction of James Street, creating a single smooth road from one end of Columbus to the other.
If you have questions, they can be directed to City Hall at (920) 623-5900. New information on this work will be posted here.
