As of 1041 AM, the National Weather Service has dropped the
ice storm warning for the City of Columbus.
However, the City of Columbus is under a Winter Weather Advisory for
freezing rain. Total accumulations of
one tenth to two tenth of an inch are expected from Monday evening at 6:00 PM
to Tuesday at 3 PM. The ice will result
in difficult travel conditions, including the morning commute on Tuesday. Current road conditions can be monitored
through the WI DOT at:

The threat to infrastructures, such as power lines, has
diminished. However, if the freezing
rain causes a downed power line, do not get out of your vehicle or approach the
power line. Call 911 to report the downed
power line. In addition, if use of a
generator is needed, remember to keep generator outside the home and have a
working carbon monoxide detector.
As a voluntary effort to help keep the roads safe, please
remove vehicles from residential streets to assist the Department of Publics
Works.
