[ARCHIVED] Construction Update for the Week of Oct. 30

A shorter update this week as work is hyper focused on only a few goals.

The curb and walk “punch list” has been delayed yet again. It is now expected to be done Monday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Nov. 10. The reason for the delay is that crews are prioritizing reopening West James Street to traffic. As a result, sidewalks and curb and gutter are taking a back row seat.

Speaking of finishing James Street, it is nearly there. The new signage is up, and the lines have been painted. Clean up for most of the equipment is scheduled for Nov. 1 to Nov. 3 with the road to open shortly after.

The Dix Street/James Street/Industrial Drive intersection will be opening up over the next couple days as crews begin to remove many of the orange barrels.

That is it for this week’s update. Remember, you can vent all of your pent up construction-related rage at our Business Liaison Intern, JT Cestkowski, via his email, jtcestkowski@columbuswi.us. Please direct all other rage to the appropriate department or elected official. Sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for more James Street Reconstruction Project news?
