For everyone wondering about the large dirt patches along the mostly finished stretches of road, fear not, the sod subcontractor will return to fill that brown with green. The areas torn up by the construction will be returned to a state better than they were before the work began.
The holes in the roadway at the Dix St./James St./Industrial Dr. intersection will be paved Friday, September 29th.
Also on the paving to-do list are the cross streets in the stage two (West James St.) area. Currently some of these have crude gravel ramps allowing access to James St. from the cross streets for local traffic. The asphalt is scheduled to be laid Wednesday, October 3rd through Friday, October 6th.
Once these are paved over, the traffic flow in this area will become less restricted. More will be said on this in next week’s update.
As crews race to finish work by the October 20th deadline, Business Liaison Intern, JT Cestkowski, is finding himself growing nostalgic for the good ‘ol days of May and June. A time when he took on all of your questions, problems and concerns regarding the James Street Reconstruction Project. Help him reminisce by sending an email to jtcestkowski@columbuswi.us with your questions to help him still feel needed.
