[ARCHIVED] City Working to Clean Up and Restore Power after June 28th Storm

June 28th Storm Update - Columbus Water & Light is still assessing and working to restore power as quickly as possible.  Some within the City should see power return fairly soon.  For others it may be considerably longer due to the way the power grid was affected by the fallen trees and branches.  CWL  linesmen will be working nonstop until all the power is restored.

Columbus Public Works is working to ensure the streets are clean and passable and are assisting Water & Light ...on tree removals near power lines.  DPW crews will be out tomorrow with the tree chipper to collect downed branches that are placed along the terraces.

Also, the Columbus Recycling Center on River Road will open up at 7 a.m. tomorrow for anyone in the community wishing to dispense of branches removed due to the storm.

Thanks everyone for your patience as we work to address this situation.
