[ARCHIVED] Police advise residents to lock cars

The Columbus Police Department has received several reports of thefts from vehicles over the past few days. In all cases the vehicles were not locked. These incidents have been happening in the northern part of the City in the area of Middleton and Spring St.

We also took a report on March 9th around 1:00 p.m. of a suspicious person trying to get into a locked vehicle in the 200 block of N. Spring St. A white male, described to be in his 20’s, about 6 feet tall wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt was seen doing this near the old Zion Church.

This is a reminder that you should lock your vehicle when parking/leaving it somewhere and do not leave valuables in plain sight. Also, please report any suspicious activity to our department.
