  1. Nine-Thirty Standard - Summer Concert Series

    June 27, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Fireman's Park

Nine Thirty Standard is all about fun and engaging live music spanning 10 decades—blues to country, standards to rock...the music from your life—plus original songs from their own lives. The band brings together the performing and song-writing talents of Amy Anderson and Jerry Fitzpatrick. Jerry has been playing guitar, writing, and singing in a variety of styles for as long as he can remember. Amy has been performing and writing since her high school years. With Jerry on guitar, Amy on keyboard, Chris Black on drums, and Jim Anderson on bass, Nine Thirty Standard has performed around Madison and southern Wisconsin in a variety of venues (festivals, clubs, parties, coffeehouses, and community events) since 2010. As either a three-piece (minus drums) or four-piece, the band can suit the music to the occasion with a range of styles and instrumentation.

    June 26, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Columbus Area Senior Center

Join in the fun and create rock art that represents YOU! All supplies will be available at each event. Only One You by Linda Kranz, is an inspirational children’s book about Adri, a little fish who is about to go explore the ocean on his own. His mother and father tell him some of the important lessons they’ve learned throughout their lives in hopes that it will help him on his journey. They remind him, “Always be on the lookout for a new friend,” and “Find your own way. You don’t have to follow the crowd.” The book stresses how everyone is unique, and that each of us have something to contribute to the world. “There’s only one you in this great big world. Make it a better place.” We want to have a visual reminder of these lessons throughout the city. To do that we are creating Only One You rock gardens in various places, including the Aquatic Center, Library, City Hall and the Senior Center.
