Alcohol Licenses

Alcohol Licensing applications are administered through the City Clerk's office.  All alcohol licenses and operator (bartender) license expire June 30 each year and must be renewed and approved by the City Council prior to June 30.

CLASS "A" Beer:  

Required to sell fermented malt beverages (beer) to consumers in original packaging or containers for off-premises consumption.

"CLASS A" Liquor:  

Required to sell intoxicating liquor to consumers in original packaging or containers for off-premises consumption.

License Fee

  • $100.00 per year for Class "A" Beer license
  • $500.00 per year for "Class A" Liquor license
  • $15.00 background check for each person listed on the application, agent
  • Publication fee

CLASS "B" Beer:

  • $100 per year for Class "B" Beer license
  • $500 per year for "Class B" Liquor license

Class B Temporary License (Picnic):  

This license is only issued to a qualified non-profit organization.  Alcohol must be purchased from a licensed distributor.

  • $10.00 per day

Operator License (bartender): 

Anyone applying for a new operator's license must complete a Department of Revenue approved Responsible Beverage Server Training course or show proof they have been a licensed bartender in the last two years in another Wisconsin municipality.
