Mission

The mission of the Columbus Police Department is to maintain peace and order in the community. We seek to accomplish this mission in a fair and consistent manner, exhibiting high ethical standards. Our members are committed to a level of training and education that allows us to provide quality services to the citizens of Columbus.

Payment of Parking Citations

Parking citations should be mailed or paid at the Columbus Police Department, at 159 S. Ludington St.  We accept cash, check or money order.  There is a secure drop box in the lobby for after-hours payments.

Use of Force Policy 

This policy establishes policies and procedures for the Columbus Police Department regarding: the use of force and identifying the responsibilities of officers using force or after it has been used; to provide guidance to officers when persons become injured due to the use of force by an officer; and to provide guidelines for officers for the reporting and review of any officer-involved critical incident.
