As promised, this administration focuses on planning and executing the plans that the City
Council and Mayor develop together. The attached document is a "stoplight" showing the Council
and Mayor’s priorities for 2007 and how we ranked ourselves at achieving those priorities. It
also includes goals for 2008. We made Economic Development our #1 priority, and felt that good
progress was made in this area. #2 is Downtown Revitalization, and here we fell short of our
goals. #3 is an overhaul of the recreation department, and we accomplished the goals set for this.
#4 was to increase the number of streets repaired, and here we did very well. #5 is communication,
and again we felt that although we did better in some areas we still fell short of achieving the
goal. #6 is tourism and marketing and again, this needs more work to be successful.
Our goals are aggressive, our measures are tough. We will continue to set the bar high
and work hard for our community in 2008.
