The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is undertaking two road projects in Columbus during 2018. Highway 73 is set to receive mill and overlay.
Mill and overlay is a process by which the existing street is ground down so that a fresh layer of asphalt may be laid on top. This is in contrast to the complete reconstruction that took place this past summer on James Street. None of the surrounding infrastructure in this area needs to be redone.
The work will extend from Faith Drive out to Heritage Way, the new access road to the Enerpac plant.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has yet to make much information regarding this project public, but as soon as they do, it can be found here.
